Review:Prom Nights From Hell

~ I read and reviewed this book a long time ago, so this review is a little bit old and it was written around the time when I was obsessed with Twilight and Stephenine Meyer~ 

Well first of all I LOVE THE BOOK AND THE STORIES!! The stories are amazing, even though they are really short they are nevertheless amazing. The way they are told and the way you can so picture it is awesome..

But there is one story I don't like and to be completely honest I couldn't wait to finish it.

And the story was by *Cries* Stephenie Meyer- Hell on earth.

I love her and her work but this story was just dreadful. It was painful to read, for me it didn't make any sense and it was just so so confusing. And it absolutely kills me to say this but I didn't like it at all, it was nothing like any of her other stories it was as if she just made it up on the spot.

But anyway- my favourite is Meg Cabot - The Exterminator's Daughter. It was so quick and snappy but nonetheless I loved it, it was so flirty and so just amazing, I don't know how else to describe it but I loved it.

Now to the next story by Lauren Myracle- The Corsage I wasn't so keen on the story at first, I thought it was a bit dull. But then it got really interesting and it was more of a halloween story then a prom one. SPOILER ALERT!! I hated the ending and if it was me who brought the love of my life back to life I would most likely still love him and not wish for him to go away!

Kim Harrison- Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper was okay I will read the rest of the books because it ended on a great cliff hanger and I can't wait to see what happens next. But that's all I have to say for it to be honest.

Michele Jaffer- Kiss and Tell. Well for starts I love the characters. I love the beginning and I love the ending even though there isn't going to be more books of Kiss and Tell as far as I'm aware, I would love to see what happens next and what happens with Miranda.

So the book was awesome, and I know I pointed out most of the stuff I didn't like but there are a lot a lot of stuff I love. But I'm not going to dwell on that.

So if you are looking for some sharp, snappy and flirty stories I would totally recommend it. :)

Review:The Hunger Games ~ Suzanne Collins

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister’s place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

A little late but better than never, this series has actually been on my list for a long time now- but I never thought I would enjoy or understand what this book was about, it did seem complicated and not really something I would enjoy even with all the kids killing. 

The whole plot and the world that Collins created was something I have never ever seen and I still can’t figure out how she came up with it, it was so original and nothing like anyone has ever done before. It was really mesmerising. I was told that this book was good but I had no idea it was THIS good… Oh My God was it good (you were right Jana)

From the very start I couldn’t help but bond with the characters, they seemed so real. And there they were trying to get by and hope that they get to live for another day; it was impossible not to feel a connection to them as they are just normal people having to face not only hunger but this freaking game of death every year!

When I began reading the book all the little fears I had disappeared as soon as they came, the story was so well described and it was really easy to get stuck in, I truly didn’t feel lost at all during this book which did surprise me and I’m not the sharpest of people and I thought it would take me forever to get what the book was talking about. 

I think I fell in love with Katniss Everdeen from the first few chapters. She was a heroine that had her whole world turned upside down, having to be the parent and look after her younger sister but the best thing about her was that she wasn’t stuck up her own arse. She went into the game because she had to save her sister. She never thought for sure that she will kick everyone butts and win this thing, she was confident but still knew that there would be people that were going to be a lot more better than her. 

I thought this book was going to be about the kids killing each other nonstop but there was also romance in the air, I didn’t particularly like their little relationship just because Peeta is the sweetest guy ever and he is truly madly in love with Katniss spilling his heart out for her and she doesn’t even know that he really feels like this. It was heart breaking reading the last chapter if I cried at cute stuff like this I would have cried buckets!

There is one thing that I really didn’t like and that’s when they were still in the arena I could not for the life of me grasp the end of the day and start of the night and visa versa. That was the only confusing thing that was in the book I think otherwise there is not a thing left to say but I hate myself for not reading this book sooner!!

I made myself a massive promise however that I am not to watch the movie until I was done with this book and it was really hard to keep! It was SO tempting every time something massive happened I would just say “woah I can’t wait to see this in the movie” I really hope my favourite parts are in the film.

Review: Perfect Chemistry~ Simone Elkeles

Woah..

Wow, just wow.. This was just the addictive- sexy- funny book I needed, words can’t describe how MUCH I loveeeddd this book!!!!
This is not my kind of book, or at least that’s what I thought until I read it. It left me speechless and believe me that doesn’t happen often I talk all the time, and I mean all the time! This book was so fantastic, and sooo addictive it was so hard to put it down at night. I just absolutely love how it was written in Alex’s and Brittney’s voice, and the difference between the two classes and how they all acted towards each other was so realistic. I don’t think the second book can get any better than this Brittney and Alex has set a massive standard of hotness and I don’t think the next book can match it, but it wouldn’t mind if it was hotter than this *innocent look*
Okay I wasn’t kidding before, even while writing this review I can’t think straight, my brain has been turned into mush after it.
My thoughts on the cover? Well everyone knows a picture is worth a thousand words, with this book it’s so true, as soon as you see the cover you know what it’s going to be about, although I don’t think that’s what Alex or Brittney look like- I pictured him this sex god kinda person, and Brittney a sexy goddess to match him and the guy and girl on the cover are too plain to be them.
I crash and swoon on guys HARD!! And Alex has been added to my list of guys I love right now *giggles* yeah you get the drift, why can’t he be in my chemistry class? Pretty please?

Review ~ Tempest- Julie Cross

 The year is 2009.  Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler.  Recruit… or kill him.

Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

The story line, the emotions of it was pretty much a roller-coaster for me! The fun one that you could ride all day and not get sick of it ever, I was crying, I was laughing, I was even kissing the book and stroking the pretty cover, so yes.. I didn’t want the book to end!

Good story line- check, cute love story- check, fast read- check, time travelling- check. So I’m not a fan of time travelling books (haven’t read one before this one) I was always too scared it would be really hard to follow it, or the plot won’t be good enough, or I’ll get confused (and believe me I get confused a lot!) 

But this book? It was easy to follow, at the beginning of most chapters it said what day- time it was and if not it was made really clear in the chapter itself. A lot of people were saying how this book was a lot like the Butterfly Effect- well let me tell you this it isn’t, there are some parts of it that are similar that’s true like the notebook Jackson and Adam kept, and going back to be with Holly ect, but that was mostly at the very beginning and very end and poor, poor holly :( 

I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with this book- not at all, but I did, from the first chapter there was always something going on, some mystery of CIA, or Jackson going back trying to put all of the pieces together hoping that everything will go alright.  

Scratch everything you know about time travelling! And I mean everything, for Jackson time travelling came naturally he didn’t need a time machine, or  a blue box which takes you to different planets and times (yes I’m a sucker for Doctor Who) or anything else that you might have seen in books or movies. And that was what I loved about this book, it was simple –you think of a time and place, concentrate and boom your there- it was clearly planned and thought out which was really refreshing but it wasn’t forced on, it was natural for Jackson, a part of him and not some special power he has. 

Not only was the idea of time travelling refreshing but so was the love story, it wasn’t exactly one of the ones where boy meets girl, boy lusts over the girl and finally they get together and live happy ever after. This book had more than one love story with 009 Holly, meeting her, becoming friends and gradually getting closer to her. And then there was the 007 Holly where he did everything possible to get closer to her, a rich kid doing a janitors job? I don’t think so, but he still did it and it was cute. I love, love loved this book, however having so many positives it’s bound to have a negative and for me it was the ending. I loved it, but I hated it as well, it’s a great cliff hanger but it was just so sad and I can’t even imagine what Jackson must have been feeling when doing what he had to do to save the only girl he loved, again it was really cute.

     Bitten! You have got to get your teeth into this one!

Review: Linger- Maggie Stiefvater

 Grace and Sam must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping dangerous secrets. For Sam, it means grappling with his werewolf past ...and figuring out a way to survive the future.

But just when they manage to find happiness, Grace finds herself changing in ways she could never have expected...

~I read this at the beginning of March, but wanted to share with you guys my love for the Shiver series, if you haven't got your hands on these babies then I suggest you drop whatever it is you are doing and get it!!~


I cried my eyes out, this is one of the saddest love stories I’ve read and why oh why did it have to end? Why do good things always have to end? I cried at the end of this book, of Shiver and I am more than positive I’m going to cry in Forever.
The story wasn’t focused so much on Grace and Sam, and it was also told in new characters, at first I wanted to scream but soon enough I fell in love with it. So without even reading the first page I knew it was going to be amazing ( and if I was wrong about it I think I would start crying and having a big tantrum on the floor about it ) so thank god this book was as I hope it was if not better. I don’t like to admit it but I am a hopeless romantic, I love a good love story the sloppier the better I say. I loved the crosscutting between Sam, Grace and then Isabel and Cole, I don’t really know why I loved it but I did it just worked. Everything about this book worked for me even the ending. About half way through the book I was crying rivers mostly because I knew it was going to end and mostly because I was just waiting for the buckets of tears to come at the very end and oh boy they did. It’s so hard to explain how this book makes me feel, I think the closest I’ll get is this being my drug and me getting my fix.
Many people were saying the plot doesn’t have much going on. So what? It still made my heart race and ache whenever I wasn’t curled up on the sofa reading it.

I read this last year but I wanted to share this review as I loved the books soo much. 

I still haven't fully recovered from this book. In a good way, a very good way. It blew my mind, it was that amazing just like the rest of the series.
I'm not going to say if it was worst or better then the other two books because that's unfair they were all amazing on different levels.

Before I even began reading my heart was beating so fast I was certain it would explode. (Without sounding obsessed I was screaming and dancing around as soon as the book was published and as soon as I got to read it) Which does make me seem obsessed and crazy but I'm not all the time.

So the start dragged on forever, but it only felt that way because my friend told me something was going to happen later and it seemed as if I couldn't get to it fast enough. Also it dragged on because I didn't have time to read it I was so busy, but later on when things got hot (I mean it in that way, and in action wise way) I ditched sleep and read this book non-stop. I don't regret my decision at all!!!!

I have a lot more to say, but I don't want to spoil the book for anyone that hasn't read it yet. But when you get around to it, it will blow you away.
Imagine the best chocolate in the world, then times it by 10. Then eat that chocolate while you are reading this book, and the book will be as good as the chocolate if not better.

There is nothing I hate/ don't like about the book. For me it's impossible to find something I didn't love. Even if some parts annoyed me (Hank)



I was very lucky to have met Becca Fitzpatrick and have my books signed :D:D Also I have the Silence in special edition so I have the very first unread Patch and Nora meeting. And it was great, it reminded me how good of friends Rixon and Patch were. But also the story is written in Patch's point of view! And it was really good and interesting ;)

 Review: Shiver- Maggie Stiefvater

I absolutely agree with the last like "A chilling love story that will have you hooked from the very first page"   and it sooo did! 

 

Omg, omg, omggggg!!!!!!

I wasn’t sure about this book, I don’t really read about wolves, but something made me read it, sure enough as soon as I opened the first page and the words hit my eyes I was hooked! I needed to know more, I would stay up really late just to catch up when I didn’t have time during the day. Whenever I looked at the clock and thought right this is my last chapter and then I have to go to sleep or be a walking zombie the next day, a little devil on my shoulder would argue that sleep isn’t important I should read just one more chapter; it won’t hurt. And by the end of it I would have read about 5 chapters after promising myself just one and sure enough I would be a zombie the next morning.
This book was mostly based on Grace’s and Sam’s love unlike most of the books I’ve read where they either have to hide their love and deal with other people and secrets, but no this book was just a story of the two of them fighting to be together forever and having this image of them not being able to as soon as winter comes, and that’s why this book was sooo amazing the thrill and action didn’t keep you reading on but their love did, and how the book was written, having both Grace and Sam narrate it was genius.
 All of the characters are so different and they have their own issues and past lives and that’s what I love about this book, Maggie Stiefvater didn’t just focus on the two main characters but gave profile and life to the others that I think some authors forget to do a lot.

This book made me laugh out loud, hold my breath in, get really excited, think about it nonstop and also cry. I would do anything to have my own yellowed eye wolf, and the love they share. Heck I would give anything to have Graces life.
The only thing I regret is not buying and reading this sooner, but also for not saying to hell with the work I’m supposed to do during the day and just sit and read it.

       BITTEN!!!!!!!! I just want to sink my teeth into this one.
