Review:ReVamped ~ Ada Adams

A simple mission turned deadly.

Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father’s presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn’s life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.

When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.

Imagine vampires coming out of the coffins and walking amongst us, with us knowing and accepting them…..
From the prologue I could feel myself falling in love with this book! I’m not exaggerating from the very first line I was hooked!! Here’s the first line of the book “A sharp, searing pain pierced through my chest as I watched the guy I liked- the guy I was falling in love with- kiss another girl.”
What did I tell you? Amazing! And did I mention how much I love this quote?

The book is set in 2015- however whenever I was reading the book I felt like I was being thrown into the 1900’s or even earlier. By the way Dawn described stuff, how all the characters talked and acted (well all apart from Brooke) it was as if the whole Angel Creek took a step back in time but decided to keep all of the gadgets and every modern thing. And I wasn’t expecting it to work. But it did strangely enough. I had my doubts I kept thinking “oh hang on this isn’t how a normal teenage girl would act, not nowadays” But it actually made the book so much better….

So not only is the book set three years in the future, but vampires have come out of their coffins into the real world meaning one thing humans know about vampires! They know that they exist and walk amongst them. So what does our population do with that knowledge? Run away screaming in fear? Nope they welcome them with open arms and make them famous. Trusting humans to do the exact opposite.

The characters had a lot of history, some painful, some shocking and some absolutely heart breaking. When I was reading the chapter about Sebastian’s family it made me want to cry. It was so sad. And then when Dawn was finally getting the answers from her father that she deserved a long time ago. It was really emotional. I was ready to cry, I didn’t expect it at all. It’s just not something that I saw coming.

The book was mostly action, and no romance which sucked. Or at least that’s what I thought at first. The lack of romance during the book certainly was really disappointing but then when I reached the end and read the last line I couldn’t help but smile and squeal and giggle to myself. It was the MOST perfect way to end this book! It was so so cute, absolutely adorable, I loved it so much. Every time I think about it I keep smiling to myself like an idiot.

I don’t like Ethan. He’s charming and cute, and bit goffy at times. But I don’t like him. I did at one point (well actually before I was introduced to the hotty that is Sebastian) and soon he seemed really annoying! Like a puppy running around wanting attention from Dawn *yawn* compared to Sebastian he had no chance.
I was expecting this book to be one of the stories where a girl (never been kissed or had a boyfriend) moves out of her father’s mansion to a small town. Where she meets two hotties who are falling in love with her! Fighting over her non-stop. Boring, boring, boring. I’m so glad that this book turned out to be a lot more. Instead of all the vampire-love we got vampire-action, really there was quite a lot of death.

Bitten~ It was amazing!! AND I wouldn't mind having Sebastian to myself *pretty please?* ~

How do you picture him? ~3~

How do you picture him is a meme that I will be hosting every two weeks or so picking out some of the dreamy boys from books that I'm sure we all want to drool over

This is the beautiful Sebastian from ReVamped! I love him so so much!!

So here's a little more about him;

His birthday: November 18th, 1853 ( I wouldn't mind giving him a very massive hug on his birthday)

Eye colour: Light gray

Hair: Black, Longish, Curly

He is super hot, mysterious, sweet, caring.. and did I mention hot?!

This guy is adorable, I dunno who he is- I just typed "hot guys" into google and voila and he was just there being all hot, and I think the gray eyes look exactly as Sebastian's.

So my second guy is Taylor Blackburn- he plays Caleb in Pretty Little Liars if you didn't know and he's so cute!

Here's a pretty picture of him.

Okay so if you have read ReVamped, then tell me what you think Sebastian looks like, if you haven't yet read this book then do so right this minute!!! But from the description let me know who you think could/ does look like him.

Review:Half-Blood ~Jennifer L.Armentrout.

 The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

~Sounds awesome right?! Well it is!~

Some reviews ruined the book for me! Which sucks! A lot of the reviews mentioned the similarities between this book and Vampire Academy, and whenever I read the book I would instantly think oh! So here’s a little list:

THE RACE:

PURE-BLOOD- the same thing like MOROI (they even have the ability to control elements)

Sex with humans and pure bloods to create the other race= HALF-BLOODs,

DAIMONS pretty much STRIGOI

HALF-BLOODS pretty much the same thing as DHAMPIRS

CHARACTERS:

Alex= Rose …..Alexandria and wanting to be called Alex- Rosemarie wanting to be called Rose.

Aiden= Dimitri

Caleb= Mason

Seth= Adrian

Lea= Mia.

OTHER SIMILARITIES:

School/ training camp away from humans and everyone else,

The school rules,

Half-Bloods protecting Pure-Bloods and destroying the Daimons.

Alex running away from the school.

I can see how loads of people are saying that this book is a lot like VA- but I don’t really see it as a bad thing, I loved VA and this book was pretty awesome as well.  At the very start it felt like I was stuck in one of the Vampire Academy books but someone messed about with the names and terms. Even though I felt like that it wasn’t a bad thing not in my eyes- for me it was like I was visiting St. Vladimir’s Academy.

The first half was pretty much Vampire Academy retold, and I’m so so glad that it got better halfway through; it gradually got its own series that took on its own world.

The characters were really awesome! Especially Caleb I loved him I even love his name, he was funny, charming, and loyal to Alex throughout the story which was just so cute. And OH MY GAWD! Is Aiden hot, and there’s a little love triangle going on there with
 Seth as well! I really loved Seth (I love Aiden, but Seth was just the badass version of him)

Okay so I don’t like Alex, she’s pretty awesome but I think she was *trying* to be too much like Rose-  being sarcastic, funny, stubborn and brave. THE SAME AS ROSE! She was a good character as the narrator and everything but it was just too in your face. I wish that she was a bit more down to earth- that would have made a massive difference for me.  I also could not get into her head! The story was realistic (as much as a daimon killing book can be with crazy non-human characters) it was just as if I were watching it happen before me and not being actually part of it. Which sucked!

The thing I loved best about this book was how forbidden it was- it wasn’t just the danger of dying or being turned into a daimon. Being together was just as if not more dangerous and risky the obstacles Alex had to face.

With the rule saying “No relationships between Half-Bloods and Pure-Bloods what’s so ever!” It made the book so much more interesting, it wasn’t just about killing, the school and everything else but there was also a forbidden rule! ONE THAT MUST BE BROKEN!

The ending was the most powerful part of the book, all of Alex’s emotions were building up inside of her and at the very end it all explodes all over the place. If the book had a different ending I would never have liked it as much!

Kissed~ It was just a second of being Bitten! And oh boy it would have been yummy!~

My Little Rants.....~2~

Wanna know what goes inside my head? Well here you go, enjoy.
~ALL my Rants are harmless fun, and are not there to offend/ upset anyone- they are just for fun.~

So everyone knows what Facebook is I presume. Unless you live in the basement and only come out every two years to stuff your face.

Well if you have Facebook yourself you most likely have a friend or a couple of friends who are pretty much attention whores. What do I mean by that I hear you ask? Well the people that keep saying stuff like “I hate life”, “I can’t believe this happened to me” “someone cheer me up” blah blah blah you get the picture.

I don’t really like Facebook, all the crap people post don’t interest me one bit! Unless of course it’s a bitch fight, or something funny. If you think that posting a ton pictures of your dinner, you in the toilet (really classy) or you pretending to be a duck is going to be interesting I have one thing to say to you. STOP!!

But seriously what makes people write stuff like “I just had my dinner, here’s a picture” WHY?! Who cares? Say something funny, and meaning full that someone will actually like. Imagine if you died and at your funeral they decided to read out all of your facebook statuses, how boring would that be?!

So anyway, whenever someone posts a very depressing post and all their friends are concerned saying what’s wrong, to text them, to email them ect I want to rip my hair out whenever that person then decided to say “oh don’t worry”. What the hell was the point in posting it in the first place? They deserve a slap for that.

I’m not having a go at all the people that really are sad and need cheering up- go for it- but if you think it’s acceptable to just say then it doesn’t matter what the hell possessed you to put it up in the first place?!?!

Morel of the story- don't be a pain in the bum on facebook!

Ps- is this font easy to read? I'm not quite sure so lemme know what you guys think. xxx

Waiting on Wednesday ~7~

Obsidian- by Jennifer L.Armentrout.

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.
~Okay so I'm uber excited to get my little greedy hands on this book! Mostly cause my friend would kill me if I don't read this soon, and ever day I would get a message saying "You need to buy this book!" Or "Do I need to remind you to buy it?!" So yup- need to get it!~
What are you waiting for on Wednesday?

Beautiful. Kind. Patient. Perfect"

~ AHH I love this book! And even though it's similar (quite a bit) to Vampire Academy I love it more! Not as much as VA- nothing can compare to those books but it's close!~

Cover Crazy ~4~

Cover Crazy is a meme held on Mondays, and is hosted by Tawni at The Book Worms. It's a great way to tell others about the cover that you love right now!

Pearl is a sixteen-year-old vampire... fond of blood, allergic to sunlight, and mostly evil... until the night a sparkly unicorn stabs her through the heart with his horn. Oops.

Her family thinks she was attacked by a vampire hunter (because, obviously, unicorns don't exist), and they're shocked she survived. They're even more shocked when Pearl discovers she can now withstand the sun. But they quickly find a way to make use of her new talent. The Vampire King of New England has chosen Pearl's family to host his feast. If Pearl enrolls in high school, she can make lots of human friends and lure them to the King's feast -- as the entrees.

The only problem? Pearl's starting to feel the twinges of a conscience. How can she serve up her new friends—especially the cute guy who makes her fangs ache—to be slaughtered? Then again, she's definitely dead if she lets down her family. What's a sunlight-loving vamp to do?

~I love the cover of this book! Pretty much sums it up, the red bottle *duh a vampire*~
